What we do . . . .
Early Break operates in the Bury,Rochdale and East Lancashire areas offering accurate, unbiased information on all aspects of drug and alcohol use and also a counselling, support and treatment service to anyone aged 19 or under in Bury and Rochdale and aged 21 or under in East Lancashire, who feels that they have an issue, question or problem related to drug or alcohol use. The services are free of charge. Workers from the service can meet people at a location convenient for them and work any day, any time; weekdays or evenings.
At Early Break
- We believe that people have a right to be involved in decisions which affect their lives.
- We believe that children and young people have a right to respect, to be listened to and protected from harm.
- We work in a way that allows people to make decisions where this is possible and respect their culture, background and life experiences.
The service also aims to provide a safe, healthy and where necessary, therapeutic environment for all those who make use of its services. Access to services is open to anyone living in the Bury, Rochdale and East Lancashire areas who fall within the specified age range and it is the intention of the service management that no individual shall be denied access to services or receive less favourable treatment within the delivery of those services due to their race, gender, sexuality, religious or cultural beliefs, disability, lifestyle or for any other reason which cannot, within the context of individual circumstances, be shown to be reasonably justified.
It is also intended that clients and all workers involved with the service will benefit from an "arena of safety" in a non-abusive environment where protocols and policies are continually monitored and updated, and where the privacy and personal sensitivities of all individuals will be respected.
We also offer a young person's alternative therapy drop in service in Rochdale and Bury, called 4U18 in Rochdale and EBAlternatives in Bury. This offers a range of alternative therapies and support including relaxation, aromatherapy, auricular acupuncture, shiatsu, reflexology, indian head massage and music and art therapy.
