
For Individual Young Clients :
Early Break can provide drug or alcohol treatment interventions for young people, aged under 19 years of age in Bury and Rochdale.
Planned interventions following a comprehensive assessment and agreed care plan, can include;
- Information and education for harm minimisation.
- Advice and guideance.
- Mediation.
- Advocacy.
- One to one counselling.
- Short term support, as appropriate, for parent / carers.
- Support for those young people living with parent / carer substance misusers.
- Non prescribed treatment interventions e.g auricular acupuncture, aromatherapy, reflexology, EST (Electro Stimulaton Therapy), sports therapy, boxing therapy and Indian head massage.
- Day time access to structured holistic therapies available in each area.
- Prescribing interventions and care-planned needle exchange.
- Support for community based detoxification and rehabilitation.
- Support into in-patient care.
- Support for relapse prevention.
- Support into prescribing treatment with adult service (in line with joint working protocols) and / or GPs.
- Support for those finishing custodial sentences and returning to their home area.
- Liaison with, and signposting / supporting into, other relevant / appropriate services as required.
- Family centred intervention work.
For Parents / Carers :
After a successful pilot of Family Intervention Work, the Service intends to seek further funding to be able to offer this intervention across the whole Service
Support and information for individual parents / carers in relation to their son / daughter's substance misuse issues may also be available.
For Agency workers and Community Groups :
Training including drug / alcohol awareness raising sessions, for workers and volunteers in other agencies and community groups.
