EBAlternatives is Early Break's alternative treatment service for young people aged between 12 years and 18 years old who wish to address any substance use / misuse issues. The service operates at The New Kershaw Centre on Deal Street in Bury.

Through alternative therapies, counselling, relaxation techniques, stress management and personal development group work, we aim to help young people to come to terms with and challenge their substance related needs.

EBAlternatives is a client and young person focused service and whilst our aims are to improve the quality of young lives, their wishes and perceived needs are of paramount importance.
Through assessment, the young person's needs are identified and the choices that are available to them are explained.

It must always remain within the young person's wish to access EBAlternatives and to decide, with help and encouragement, how they are able to address their needs. Whilst respecting a young person's authority to make choices it would also be expected that the young person would be open to guidance and advice.

EBAlternatives is a friendly open and secure environment for young people, within this environment is the opportunity to promote change and to challenge behaviour that causes young people and their families and carers concerns.

The concept of EBAlternatives is to provide alternative therapies to help young people address and to reduce their drug / substance misuse. Some of the therapies available to young people at EBAlternatives will be new to them and their parents or carers, it is the responsibility of EBAlternatives staff to give a thorough explanation of what is available and what is expected of a young person choosing to attend.

Commitment from the young person is necessary when attending EBAlternatives.
